Beloved Star The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
US actor Finn, who appeared in beloved television series including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles, California this Monday after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, as reported by media reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones stated in a message.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Prolific TV Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of hit series, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies include It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote on social media.
Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, three children, and his family.
