The UK is set to progress with employing the entire amount of frozen Russia's holdings to support Ukraine's military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a shared declaration, the heads of state of the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this unified step would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel Russia to participate in talks.

They further noted that the initiative would be carried out in strong partnership with the America.

United Kingdom penalties have immobilized more than £25bn of Russian funds since Russia launched its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, until now, money sent to Ukraine using Russia's funds had solely been taken from profits and interest accrued on them.

Sir Keir told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their goal to advance efforts toward using the total worth of the frozen Moscow's national holdings to halt hostilities.

He stated that more restrictions in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on the Russian government.

This announcement follows European Union officials convened in the Danish capital last week to discuss employing seized Russia's assets for a 140-billion-euro credit to Ukraine.

In the previous month, President Donald Trump urged G7 allies to take or otherwise use seized Russian funds, as reported by media sources.

The worth of frozen Russia's holdings in the European Union is estimated to be almost €211bn.
