Nearly 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland found themselves without power on the start of the week after powerful weather events swept through the state, generating wind gusts reaching 109km/h.

Residents observed giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.
